A friend recently asked if I would continue coaching as I transition into my designer role at House To Home. It took me awhile to think of the correct answer and here it is...
YES!
I will never not be a wellness coach. It’s who I am and it is the talk I walk day in and day out.
That role looks slightly different in the future though. I am taking coaching a step further.
I am taking coaching into YOUR HOME!
I am Designing your environment to reflect who you are and who you’re becoming.
In coaching, I often preach how you are your environment. Your surroundings affect your decisions and moods.
For example, how difficult is it to eat healthy when your kitchen has all the bad things in your sight line? Trying to eat healthier? Let’s talk kitchen design. How does your pantry look? Refrigerator? Is your stove calling you to cook or asking you to do another night of Door Dash?
Or, have well-intended plans to finally start working out and instead start another binge session on Netflix? Look how convenient it is for you to turn on your TV and stay dormant the rest of the night. On the flip side, how much effort have you put into making a home gym just as enticing as the couch? A home gym makes it convenient to workout. Make the space motivating and beautiful. Too often I see a treadmill shoved in the corner of the dingiest part of a basement. No one wants to be there! Make your intentions a part of your environment.
Trying to not drink? Reconfigure where you have wine in the house.
Immediately have anxiety when you walk into your home office? Is it set up for organization or do you have paperwork thrown all over?
And one of my favorites, what does your family room portray? I love designing a room that conveys comfort, relaxation, good conversation and a game night with the family.
The physiology of your environment and design/function of your home is everything. From the color of your room, what furniture you chose, how you organize and mood lighting around the house. It all makes you feel a certain way. Make yourself feel good.
Brand your home to set yourself up for success. Take a look at your priorities and discover how you can set your environment to better reflect those values.
I’m here when you decide the time is right to make the change. For now, I’m excited to take coaching further into action.
